CZ LOKO to take care of the Čepro locomotive fleet. It was selected as the winner of a tender for its full service

CZ LOKO was selected as the winner of the maintenance and service tender and will, therefore, now be in charge of taking care of the dozen locomotives of ČEPRO, one of the major players in the domestic oil product market. The contract was concluded for a period of four years.

We highly value this trust. Servicing is one of the fields we have been developing in a targeted and consistent manner. We see a great potential in servicing, so we must ensure a corresponding level and quality thereof. Also in this field, we want to gradually become one of the market leaders, says Michal Schaffer, Head of the Sales Team at CZ LOKO.

A similar full-service model is already applied by the company in the Ostrava-based Liberty metallurgical plant (former Arcelor Mittal) where it takes care of twenty modernized class 741.7 locomotives. On the siding of the Škoda Auto car manufacturer, it secures the operation of its two EffiShunter 600 locomotives.

Full service means that we are fully responsible for the operability of the locomotives, allowing the customer to focus their full attention solely on the business they live on. Also for ČEPRO, this will bring the security of smooth terminal operation without additional worries related to operation,” said Michal Schaffer. He also points out the increasing administrative burden faced by operators of rolling stock. “As a result, smaller companies prefer transporting the goods by a truck rather than having to deal with these problems. Larger companies seek comprehensive solutions that we are able to offer for them. Thats also why the interest in full service on sidings is growing,” adds Schaffer.

ČEPRO is not a new partner for CZ LOKO. In January, ČEPRO introduced EffiShunter 600 into its locomotive fleet to replace an obsolete ČKD vehicle. Last week it was complemented by EffiShunter 300, which was received by the carrier representatives on the siding in Střelice where it will operate a distribution storage facility for fuels. Also in this case, the contract is based on a public tender.

At the same time, ČEPRO confirmed its purchase order for a modernized 723.7 locomotive. This will be the second EffiShunter 600 fitted with a more powerful CAT engine, namely C27 with 709 kW. This will allow the company to decommission its oldest locomotives 720.565 and 716.510, which were manufactured in 1961 and 1983, respectively, and which no longer met the advanced requirements and environmental standards.
