The largest Czech car manufacturer renewed its locomotive fleet by receiving two new EffiShunter 500 locomotives from CZ LOKO. The acceptance took place on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at the production plant in Mladá Boleslav, where both locomotives will be used for arranging whole trains with new cars.
The delivery of both locomotives also includes provision of comprehensive vehicle maintenance for ten years in the form of “fullservice”.
“Our goal in this project was not only to deliver vehicles, but to provide the client with a comprehensive long-term “turnkey” service. This project confirms the long-term trend where the customer prefers to purchase locomotives including regular maintenance, breakdown service and other services related to the operation of vehicles. The biggest advantage for the customers is that they are not responsible for the reliability of the vehicles. The reliability is provided by us for 10 years and, in the event of a problem, we guarantee a reaction time of 1 hour. Due to such challenging project conditions, we also decided to open a separate service centre right on the premises of Škoda-Auto, where we will take care of both vehicles. “, says Jan Kutálek, Sales Director of CZ LOKO.
EffiShunter 500 four-axle locomotives are primarily designed for shunting service and belong to the latest generation of shunting locomotives from the EffiShunter family. In recent years, CZ LOKO delivered these locomotives to Třinecké železárny, Serbian company Nafta Industrija and also to RailCargo Carrier. The locomotives for Škoda Auto a.s. are driven by a CAT C18 diesel engine with a power of 563 kW, meeting Stage IIIB emission requirements, and are equipped with semi-automatic couplers. The production of both locomotives took place in the CZ LOKO production plant in Jihlava.
For CZ LOKO, a.s., this project is another very important reference. Since the beginning of 2018, the subsidiary company CZ Logistics has been servicing the paint shop of the car plant in Mladá Boleslav in the form of long-term lease of the Class 704.703 locomotive, not only including fullservice, but also providing personnel for the operation of this vehicle.
