The EffiShunter 1000, a new Czech interoperable diesel-electric locomotive, developed and manufactured by the CZ LOKO company, had its premiere in Berlin at InnoTrans 2016, a prestigious transportation technology trade fair, which took place from 20th to 23rd September. The Company has high expectations with this locomotive being launched on the market and believes in its commercial success, especially abroad.

The four-axle EffiShunter 1000 has an engine output of 895 kW and towing capacity of 267 kN. It is designed for all types of shunting as well as difficult operation on industrial sidings. It is equipped with AC/AC power transmission from the diesel engine to the powered wheelsets. It meets the latest TSI norms throughout Europe. The locomotive's configuration guarantees high reliability, low operating and maintenance costs, and great comfort and safety for the the crew. It is fit with a digital control system complete with an on-line diagnostics and monitoring system by means of GPS. Sophisticated technology such as automatic speed regulation, radio remote control, and automatic coupling can be installed upon request.
The EffiShunter 1000 completes the Company's portfolio of efficient diesel shunting vehicles, beginning with the 300 line of light shunting locomotives also appropriate for metro operation, through the 500 and 700 lines for difficult operation on steel works sidings and mines, to the highest performance locomotives of the EffiShunter 1600 line designed for heavy shunting. There are over 100 of these heavy shunting locomotives in operation worldwide.
